It was developed by the 18th-century German physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. In the first part of Fahrenheit 451, the character Guy Montag, a thirty-year-old fireman in the twenty-fourth century (remember that the novel was written in the early 1950s) is introduced. In this dystopian (dreadful and oppressive) setting, people race 'jet cars' down the roads as a way of terminating stress, 'parlor walls' are large screens in every home used dually for entertainment and governmental.

If I were to rate this book in context with a real life situation, I would give it ten out of ten. In the real life situation, this is one of the best novels ever written. This book explains a real life situation where dictators control the state. It gives the reader a view of what kind of life they would live if dictatorship were the form of governance in our era. In this case, we can identify knowledge of the kind of life we are to set for our future generations. For our survival and that of our future generations, we would need to have traits of Clarisse, Montag’s neighbor. The attitude and passion of self-liberation. Self-liberation is a step to us all liberating each other and freeing ourselves from slavery. Despite it being dangerous, when we work together, the dictatorship group cannot kill all the individuals. Fear should be a strength not a weakness in such situations.

In this novel, Montag works as a “fireman” since he burns up possessions of the people who read books that are not authorized by the totalitarian state. He works arrogantly without trying to see the truth on both sides. Montag is not innocent in this context. Montag burning people’s property is not right despite him not having knowledge on what exactly they are doing. Montag also noticed he was making mistakes in what he was doing. He saw this factor when his neighbor, Clarisse was missing. When the old woman in chapter one committed suicide by burning herself in her house, Montag started seeing that there was a problem which needed solving. He stole one of the books with an aim to read it to understand why the state did not allow the people to read this books.
